CFO John David Rainey attributed part of the miss to pharmacy segment headwinds from federal drug pricing policy changes, noting the impact may persist into year-end. Rainey also flagged that while consumers are still spending, first-visit purchase rates have declined and energy prices are making it financially harder for households to sustain current spending levels. WMT has been in a well-defined descending channel since the May peak near 135, with price grinding lower through 120, 113, and 108 over the past three months.
