A New York produce importer has recalled 302 boxes of mangoes sold at select Walmart stores across four Northeast states after federal sampling found Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm. The Food and Drug Administration found Salmonella in a separate batch from the same farm, and because the recalled fruit shares that source, Panorama Produce pulled it. That is a recall based on where the fruit came from rather than on people getting sick, which means the window to check a kitchen counter is now rather than after an illness count starts climbing. Checking the Sticker in the Fruit Bowl The recalled mangoes are size 9 fruit packaged in Martina-branded cases. Individual mangoes carry a light blue sticker reading Agrofepac, Produce of Mexico, with PLU number 4584 and UPC 07503061948050.
