E-commerceEbay Australia has introduced a new AI-powered listing tool that allows users to automatically generate product listings directly from uploaded photos. Using image recognition and automated text generation to convert input photographs into drafts, the tool aims to reduce listing times for casual e-commerce sellers. The launch comes as consumer research indicates that long listing times prevent sellers from participating in the reselling platform. According to an Ebay and YouGov study, 74 per cent of respondents reported difficulties when attempting to sell pre-loved goods online, with 17 per cent citing the time required to list products as a barrier. “What is emerging is a clear shift towards a new “resale-ready” purchasing mindset, with Aussies increasingly buying strategically, and building resale value into their decision from their very first decision to purchase,” said Anne-Marie Cheney of Ebay Australia.
